What Ghillie Suit is best for Paintball?
February 16th, 2010

Paintball puts some serious demands on your Ghillie Suit.  I have never been hunting and had to sprint 200 yards through the woods, dive behind a tree and start shooting.  Deer rarely require you to lay down a suppressing cover fire as you dash across a clearing.  I have yet to find any big game species that fires back with a bucket of paint.  But this is the reality of paintball.

So, when people ask me what Ghillie Suit to get for paintball, I tell them, these are the tings to consider.  If you wear a helmet, or have a large mask, the Paintball Ghillie Suit is made with an extra large hood, though most Ghillie Suit hoods are big enough.  Because of the comparatively fast pace of painball, I suggest a Jacket and pants set rather than a poncho;  in a lot of cases, a Ghillie Jacket is enough.  Probably the biggest consideration for paintball is cleaning your suit.  For hunting I love a natural Just fiber suit, but for paintball I strongly recommend a synthetic or ultra light.  is will handle rinsing better than a jute fiber suit and will retain is color better.
